The start of every year comes with it a list of resolutions we all make and – eventually – cast aside in lieu of our time-tested habits. One of the most popular resolutions is to “get healthy.” Often times we equate health with food and exercise – and rightfully so. Of course, eating right and exercising regularly is easier said than done.
But what if there was a way to improve your health in 2017 and beyond without having to adapt to new habits?
Here at Comfort First, we have the solution for you.
Breathe Cleaner Air Every Single Day With These Simple Heating And Cooling Tips
No matter your diet or fitness regiment, you simply won’t be healthy if you’re not breathing in clean air. We strongly suggest you turn to pros – like the folks here at Comfort First in North Carolina – to perform regular air duct cleaning.
Did you know that the majority of air you breathe inside your home comes courtesy of your air ducts? Over time, those ducts become lined with microbes, mildew and bacteria, not to mention dirt and dust. By having your ducts routinely cleaned, you can drastically improve your indoor air quality.
It’s not uncommon for our clients to tell us how their allergies improved following our air duct cleaning. But aside from your health, our duct cleaning services also helps ensure that your HVAC system works more efficiently. For example, one of our clients recently called to let us know that she found herself using her AC less in the summer because there was so much more airflow following our cleaning.
Go One Step Further By Installing UV Lights
A trend we’ve noticed among our neighbors in both Raleigh and the Outer Banks is the use of ultraviolet germicidal lights, which help to keep your home germ-free. These machines – which can be found online – safely provide the highest UV light intensity available, which reduce the spread of airborne germs.
We often recommend these to our clients because they’re known to stop further buildup of germs inside your heating and cooling system, thus keeping your air clean and prolonging the life of your system.
Should You Clean Or Replace Your Ducts?
Many of our clients wonder if duct cleaning is enough, of whether it’s time to actually replace their ductwork.
Here’s our stance on this:
There are many factors that determine whether you can clean or need to repair your air ducts. The first factor is the type of ductwork you have. More often than not, your ductwork can be easily cleaned, especially if you live in a newer home.
Metal ductwork with no interior lining, for example, can almost certainly be cleaned. If, however, the ductwork is constructed of fiber board, cleaning it won’t be so easy. Also, if the contamination is widespread and severe, then you’re likely better of replacing the ductwork.
Don’t worry if all this is confusing at first – that’s exactly what we at Comfort First are here to do – help you determine what type of service is best for your needs and budget. In the end we can be certain we’ll help you improve the air quality of your home, as well as improve the efficiency and performance of your heating and cooling systems.
